Hey, I’m Allyson.

Welcome to my corner of the web. I’m a multimedia journalist from the Inland Empire/Los Angeles in Southern California. Currently, I am based in New York City, with skills and experience in print and digital media.

As a reporter, I have covered things from general assignment breaking news, religion, politics, transportation, health, crime, immigration, arts and culture, food and drink, lifestyle, entertainment, and Asian American issues/events. While my specialty is on the writing and reporting side of things, I also shoot photography and video. I have blog-writing, copy-writing and editing experience, as well as broad experience in public relations, marketing, social media and website management.

I graduated in 2018 with an M.A. in Journalism from the Newmark School of Journalism at the City University of New York (CUNY), where I honed multimedia skills from data journalism to making audio newscasts. I also hvae a B.A. in English from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles (class of 2014).

I hope to utilize my multimedia skills and storytelling experience as a reporter and creative writer in an upbeat, collaborative team environment.
